There was an awesome thing that happened today.
Spouse and I went to an event today that’s kind of a big deal for our local area. And while it was pretty fucking cool, that wasn’t the awesome thing. The awesome thing was that we got there, we saw the people that we knew who were working at the event and then we got to see all the other people we knew who were attending. There were hugs. There were high fives.
And then, during the keynote speech, it hit me – this is our community. We BELONG to this community. That hasn’t happened since we were in college.
We like the community, obviously. We chose it. But this was the first time for me that it was really, palpably, OURS. We’re part of it. And that was awesome.
