We spent our first in-the-theater film of 2013 on Hansel & Gretel – Witch Hunters. It is dreadful and still pretty enjoyable. There are also laughs. If they’d had funny outtakes after the end credits, it would have bumped the movie up to ‘good.’
I also picked up the latest Food Network Magazine today. I don’t do it often, but this is a particularly great pick – Super Bowl snacks, healthy (quick) weeknights and cakes for every month. I’m currently uploading a mess of these recipes using Chef Tap so I can start making them this weekend.
Other things of note: my latest favorite thing as a standalone snack or to put in my homemade trail mix is Brookside’s Dark Chocolate Acai Blueberries. Fucking awesome, and I don’t even LIKE blueberries.
I’m halfway through the Art of Fielding, but it’s on hold now as I got The Cloud Atlas from the library.
My favorite listens of the last six months are probably Grace Potter and the Nocturnals (all of her stuff), Gary Clark Jr., Kishi Bashi, alt-J and The Avett Brothers. I’ve added some new stuff recently but I’m undecided on the full albums as yet.
I’ll be spending some time in Denver this weekend, so I’m looking forward to good food and (slightly) warmer temps.
