It has been positively AGES since I committed public acts of bloggery.
Tonight I drove out of town (and more than a little out of the way) for a yoga class, and dudes, it was SO worth the trip. It’s been forever since I’ve been in a proper yoga class and even LONGER than that since I learned something new in a class. Awesome all around. I also forget sometimes how good yoga makes me feel once I can really get out of my head. Not only that, I got to stop at Starbucks on my way home, picked up a little chai and listened to a great playlist on my way home. All in all, a pretty stellar evening.
I haven’t done my best ofs for 2012. Hands down my favorite film was Pitch Perfect. The soundtrack is also awesome, but I haven’t been able to get tired of the film.
Musically, I was all over the place. For the first time in while I had a job where the radio – actual radio – got played. I won’t lie, it influenced a bunch of what I listened to this year. I’ve got the start of a list somewhere that I’ll follow up with. High points included Gotye’s album, Ellie Goulding, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, and the Avett Brothers.
My books got cataloged at GoodReads (along with my ratings/reviews). I’ve just started The Cloud Atlas so I’m expecting to get through that this weekend.
My mom pretty awesomely gave me her fitbit, which she wasn’t using. I’m clocking about five miles a day at work and around 10 flights of stairs. The new job is good. Tomorrow we’re implementing my attaboy system, so I’m hoping it will boost the overall morale. I’m excited about other people being excited about work.
